I plan on doing some minimal wading this summer. Because of physical limitation I can’t go deeper than my man nards or wear any kind of waders. Question: what kind of shoes or sandals is best and most stable? What kind of insect repellant do you use? Whose strike indicates do you like? What say you?…thanks.

Even though you will not be using waders I would suggest picking up a pair of wading boots. They work good and are designed for maximum traction on underwater surfaces. I usually use a spray on sunscreen that has deet insect repellent included. I am a big fan of the orange pinch off strike indicators, some people do not like them because the do leave some residue on your line when you take them off but I have less trouble getting them wrapped around my fly and I think they are more sensitive to lighter strikes.

I have never had a problem with insects....possibly because the water is so cold.
