Members yummysmokedham Posted May 22, 2009 Members Posted May 22, 2009 Looking at fishing Taneycomo this weekend, probably on Saturday and possibly on Monday. From what I have been reading in other posts it sounds like it is up quite a bit. I usually put in at cooper creek and go downstream from there, have not been brave enough to take my boat any farther up stream than cooper creek. I am wondering in Taneycomo is up high enough where I could go up stream to the dam and head back downstream. I have a 16 ft bass boat and I have heard the horror stories of people busting up their boats in the rebar hole and beaching it on some of the gravel banks.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 22, 2009 Root Admin Posted May 22, 2009 Check out reports on oa's main page and on the forum. Also look at the generation and levels from the last few days. You'll see generation has been slow in the am and fast in the pm. You'll have to judge for yourself if the water is high enough to go to the dam. The water is clear and you can see the bottom anyplace. Fishing should be excellent this weekend.
twosets Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 You will be fine all the way up to fall creek, other than the gravel bar below short creek just above lillys. Just stay to your right. If they are not generating a lot of water it would be a good idea to go above fall creek with some who knows where all the bodies are buried "This is not Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."
