ollie Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Hey all fellow Hickory Creek Stream Team members, we need to pick another date to clean-up the stream. I am thinking sometime in late July, but either way I need to annouce a date for the paper and the radio stations. This time we will meet earlier in the morning on a Saturday. If anyone can help out with sponsorship that will be great! Since I have fished the park the last couple of weeks I noticed our work is not paying off too well. People will be jerks and still not pick-up after themselves. Sure it's better than it was, but this time I guess we will concentrate on the lower section. One thing I have noticed is the growth of vegation along the banks. We will miss a lot of trash this time around because you simply cannot see it. Any ideas on a date would be great. Let's here from some of you. Buzz Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I'm able to do any Saturday in July. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ollie Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 I'm thinking the third Saturday in July. I am also needing anyone to volunteer with me this Friday for the annual Fishing Derby held at the fish hatchery. The Stream Team will be setting up a booth or table to educate the youth about our mission. I can do it by myself, but I would prefer some help!! Anyone? Buzz Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I'd really like to help out on Friday, but I have to work. The third Saturday in July is fine with me. Anyone else have any preferences? If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ollie Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Anyone????? Anyone on the stream team want to help me this Friday? "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
ollie Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 I wanted to bring this back up to the top of the board again. I am going to announce the clean up date in the local paper this weekend. Since no one else is chiming in on this except Buzz, I will go ahead and make plans for the third Saturday in July. Let's plan on meeting around 9:00 since it will more than likely be hot! Come on everyone who wanted this team, let's hear from you! Chief Grey Bear Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I was just talking to Buzz about this the other day on our weekly fishing trip. Those that did all that loud talking just a few weeks ago are sure quiet now. We had a good local turnout last time plus Leonard came up from Taneycomo. Thanks Leonard. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
