ekl-stl Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 We are heading down to the Upper Jack's Fork this coming weekend. Anyone floated recently and how is fishing?
Members JONBOY Posted June 1, 2009 Members Posted June 1, 2009 I went flaoting about 3 weeks ago and the water was moving. So I didn't get a chance to fish that much. Thats my 2 cents. Novice Fly fisher.
Gavin Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Floated it the last weekend of April......Two day float from Prongs to Rymers. My better fish came while dragging a 4" green pumpkin tube along the bottom. But we caught a lot of small bass and goggleeye on dark colored 3-4" grubs and we had a pretty good fluke bite on the morning of the second day. Water temp was only 55 degrees, and we had no topwater action to speak of but things could be very different now. Water temps are in the mid-60's right know so be prepared to fish top, mid-water, or the bottom. Have a great trip.
Members Reegs Posted June 2, 2009 Members Posted June 2, 2009 I was there last weekend and floated from Prongs to Rymers on a three day float. Spent the entire day just below Jam Up Cave on Saturday. At sunset, I landed a 16 1/2 and a 17 1/2 smallmouth on live crawdads. Other then that, little smallies and rock bass were hitting on salamanders.
ekl-stl Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Looks like the water and flow came up last night.. weather looks good for the weekend.. http://nwis.waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?07065200

ekl-stl Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 We floated Friday through Sunday. Launched at Buck Hollow and ended at Alley Springs.. Flow was pretty good, weather was spectacular. There was more paddling to this stretch than I would have liked but got some good fishing in. Biggest for our group was one a little over 16" and one at 15.5". Caught them on Rebel Crawdads and 3" brown power grubs. Lots of Smallies and Goggleye..
