Members thunderbutt Posted June 5, 2009 Members Posted June 5, 2009 what makes lead hill so popular ? seems like the turnys are ether out of lead hill or bull shoals boat dock. never been to lead hill yet. is it better fishing around there of just better boat trailer parking area?
taxidermist Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Parking area. I always break Bull SHoals into three area upper, middle and lower. Upper from Bee creek to the Powersite dam. Middle from Bee creek to Pot Shoals and the lower from pot to the dam. You can find fish anywhere depending on what species you want. For me the lower end has been a hot place to catch fish this year, one of the best I have ever had on Bull shoals. But I dont fish for specific species either, I go out to catch fish. We have had several afternoons with great crappie and walleye catchs, up in the day the back of the creeks seem pretty good for largemouth, had release 17 blacks over 5lbs, but have yet to break the 6 pound mark. Smallies are always along the points on the lake side. Yellow perch seem to have found the points as well. Walleye have been in the middle to backs of the coves. Whites seem to like the really large coves or short deep coves. We have been using jerk baits and deep shad lures.

rps Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 tb In the archives are excellent articles that tell quite a bit about clear water lake fishing. Spend some serious reading time before you start buying. When I moved to TR seven years ago, it took me over a year to adjust my Oklahoma ways. Single biggest lesson? 10 pound Yozuri green is my heavy line.

I've never fished Bull Shoals, but'll be down in August, I do frequent Table Rock though, and throw the jerkbait when water temps are in the low 50's. (like this March/April when I was down) I don't hear much about throwing jerkbaits in the warmer water? (and I searched/read the archives too; but did find stuff via google) - Do you throw/work the jerkbait similarly in the warm water, just like in cold water?
taxidermist Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Just cooler water and like now wehn the brush is flooded, they are working well over the brush.
