Members GotaFish Posted June 10, 2009 Members Posted June 10, 2009 Anybody know how much rain has fallen around the river? We are hoping to float from Prosperine this weekend, but won't want to waster our time if the river is up. Anybody been by the river today?
Goggle-Eyed Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 It looked like the river crested about 5' high around/above Bird Island. It is dropping right now but they are still forecasting rain today and tomorrow in the watershed that feeds the Niangua... I am also not sure if all of the "water" from yesterdays rain around philipsburg has made it down there yet...

FishinCricket Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I just got back from the mouth of the spring.. The river is running a bit fast and very muddy, but it's really only about a foot higher than it should be. As was states above, this will make it tempermental and any more rain will just keep it muddy and run it up the gage another foot.. I would suggest, based upon the weeks weather report, that you hold off on attempting amy rivers around here.. Feel free to check in with me later in the week if you want.. It's the ozarks, the weather report could change.. And if we get no more rain from now til Sunday, the river will be perfect! cricket.c21.com
