Looking For A Bow-mount Trolling Motor

Gentlemen,

My trolling motor just bit the dust. I am looking for a Motor Guide 24V system with 70 lbs of thrust but will consider anything similar. A good used motor would be nice or possibly new. If anyone has one for sale or knows the whereabout of one to be had please leave word. Good fishing to all and thank you for your consideration.

Bass Pro usually has a bunch of them at the catalog outlet store. They have been reconditioned by George and Scott at Marine Repair Center.

I just picked one up the other day for $325.00. Reconditioned 70# Motorguide 5 speed, nice motor. I kept my old gatormount bracket, so price with bracket will be higher. Good people there and fair prices, 30 day warranty I believe.

Thanks for the reply. When you say Marine Repair Center does that mean you bought it at the Bass Pro Outlet Store also? Did you see others? Wow, that really is a great price. I assume it was foot control correct?.

I bought it from Marine Repair Center. Yes it is a foot control model 24v. Freshwater series I think? It was what I was looking at from retail stores and their price was $650.00 - 700.00. I have done business with them for years and never been dissappointed. They also do repair and warranty work on trolling motors and fish finders. Check them out on the web, give them a call and see what they have available, I think they will ship also, if you don't live nearby.

Dutch and Fishmeister thank you for your advice. I just called the Marine Repair Center. I never knew they exsisted. They are holding for me a Motor Guide Tour Series Digital 24V 70# bow-mount/foot control. My cost is $500 and they will install it for a flat fee of $60. It is a rebuilt/refurbished motor they bought from the factory. It comes with an attached 6month guarantee. This same motor is 789.99-800.00 new everywhere else.

So, I thank you gentlemen. I have an appointment next Tues. morning to have it installed.

Wow, I'm uprading from a 48' thrust. I ought to be able to ski behind this thing!.............Darren.

Good choice on the motor, I am sure you will like it. I upgraded from a 55# Motorguide myself, there is a lot of difference between the two, and your digital model should lengthen time on the water before your batteries need charged.
