dwiebenga Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hey all, I am leaving tomorrow for a trip will Bill on Thursday. However, I promised my daughter we could do a trotline this year and see what happens at night. We will be in the Basin Hallow area of the lake. Is there any particular area that is better than another. What type of area should I look for when I am setting it in? Any help in this part of my adventure would be great. Thank you Dave

Martin Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Near the backs of coves are good as gunner mentioned. I usually run my line parallel to shore rather then across the cove, but everybody has their own preference. Check this older thread for info as well as the thread titled "Sunday in the rain" from a couple of weeks ago I think. Some pretty good info there also. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17299 And good luck !! Don't forget. Keep a knife close by in case you have an accident and get impalled on a trotline hook. At least you can get the line cut quicker IF you have what you need close by.
