Ämp Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Bass are still holding really shallow in the weeds or just off the main channel and seem to retain the position all day..some are still on the spawn to the southwest ..southeast is done for the most part .. soft plastics are doing well with numbers but spook seems to bring the bigger fish if you have the nerve to wait while your buddy slings em in the boat one after another .. motor oil worm , green/red flash crawdad, small brush hogs all have had huge success with fish all day .. took some white bass on topwater .. .
Predator1 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Nice...Keep up the good work. Good to see someone posting good reports for Fellows. Have ya tried for Muskie?
Ämp Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 I tend to sight fish them if one strikes the top I will throw my spook at it and have had luck doing so ..otherwise I am just bass fishing. .
Flysmallie Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Man you are driving me crazy with these reports. I gotta get a smaller boat or at least paddle my fat butt around in the canoe. Looks like it's time to add a trolling motor. Then I'll have to get a permit! I don't mind the permit but I'm kind of scared of the marina lady!
Don Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I don't know her, but I bet that marina lady's so mean she probably got a rattlesnake under her hat. Ronnie, fess up, when you chasin smallies? Let me know, I'm chompin". Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Ämp Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 That lady cooks us sandwiches each day and talks to us for the time that we stand there to eat and take a small break from the sun. she has always been more than helpful and on occasion tells us where she last heard of the best fishing. You have to grease the wheel before it will turn though, bring a big fish pic to her or comment on her earrings or just throw some money in that donation box for the humane society . A canoe would be a great idea out there its 5$/hr to rent one and is probably the best thing to fish with right now considering the depth of feeding fish..I dont know how it would be against the wind but there is good fishing strait out of the marina to the east if you dont want to paddle for a hour to get to the southside. Take 2 rods incase you catch a muskie , you can just leave him on for a trolling motor , works great as a fish finder too! .
