Predator1 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Drove down the James today in Springfield. Water was not muddy. Clarity a little dingy...not much though, I think tomorrow morning is going to be off the hook. Even decided to pass on Stockton till Saturday night through early Sunday morn. Taking my Colorado Brother n law to my honey hole on the James. Hopefully we have big pics to post. Got nice video from the Upper James on Table Rock last weekend. Can you download video to this forum? Good LUck every one and safe fishing this weekend.
techo Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 We are going to try James River for the first time tomorrow night. Best of luck to you! Tim Carpenter
techo Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 On a side note.....not looking for anyone's honey holes BUT never have fished James River. We are looking for a place close to Nixa to bank fish with some kids. Open to ideas on what to throw and so on. We don't even care what kind of fish. We have a pond near the house and we went down with the neighbor kids tonight and caught some bluegill. We had a blast. I haven't laughed so hard in years. Tim Carpenter
smallmouthjoe Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 techo, the only public place that i knew of near Nixa is shelvin rock. There's not a lot of bank to fish there but there are a few spots to catch some sunfish, eyes and maybe a brownie. The best way to fish it is to wade. There's some decent spots both up an down river from there. Good luck.
techo Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Thanks. Sunfish would be fine. I was looking at the bridge to the west of Nixa on 14.....current to fast there for kids? Tim Carpenter

It is above Shelvin Rock on the James west of Nixa with pretty good access and areas to bank fish when the water isn't too high.
smallmouthjoe Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I think that may be the bridge you where speaking of. It's also pretty good.
