This question will probably just require a simple “don’t wrap so tight or live with it” answer. I’m getting frustrated breaking ostrich hurl when I palmer it on a fly, for example, like on a G Bug pattern or scud. Any trade secrets out there?

Thats not a problem I've had, so I would have to say you might be wrapping to hard, but could it be a weakness in the lot you have?

I agree with Wayne. Buy some new herl and it'll treat ya better!

Try tying twisting the herl with a peice of tag end of tying thread. Twist it up with the thread like dubbing and then wrap it like you normally would.
