Steve Smith
This question will probably just require a simple “don’t wrap so tight or live with it” answer. I’m getting frustrated breaking ostrich hurl when I palmer it on a fly, for example, like on a G Bug pattern or scud. Any trade secrets out there? ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Wayne SW/MO
Thats not a problem I've had, so I would have to say you might be wrapping to hard, but could it be a weakness in the lot you have? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Brian K. Shaffer
I agree with Wayne. Buy some new herl and it'll treat ya better! Your flies will thank you for it.. but the fish won't! happy tying - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now. Members Stuartwp
Try tying twisting the herl with a peice of tag end of tying thread. Twist it up with the thread like dubbing and then wrap it like you normally would.
