Chief Grey Bear Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 That was my thought too. I am fixing to do some research and see what I can find. At every spot where these were, there were a minimum of 4-5 of these. All in very close proximity. When I first saw them from a far, I thought it was where some birds had roosted. ollie Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 If you float down to the Kansas line be careful. My UPS driver is from Kansas and he tells me the laws are pretty funky when you pass the state line on the creek. I went to Shoal on Sunday as well and I still have the curse of that creek! I didn't catch squat. I was lucky not to get skunked! Oh well. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Ollie - You are gonna have to hook up with us one of these time when we float Shoal. I think you'll like it. Members purefish Posted July 11, 2009 Members Posted July 11, 2009 Hey I am new to the area and have just started fishing shoal. I don't have a canoe but would love to wade and fish. I looked and none of the maps I have or google earth show shoal going into jasper county anywhere. Is this a different stream or the same one that goes through wild cat park? Thanks for any info.

Yep, the same creek, but it never gets into Jasper county, close though ( south by about a mile or so ). Wildcat Park and The Grand Falls are all a part of the same creek. I haven't done it yet, but I keep hearing of some big Walleyes below the falls. Fish it and let me know how you do.. I want to do the float from the falls to Schifferdecker sometime, I just haven't yet. Buzz If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

Pulled a few 3 or 4 pound large mouth of there before. I too have never fished below the falls much but have really been wanting to do a Falls to Shifferdecker float before the summer is up. Let me know how it is if you do it.
