You know maybe Waterpatrol and Conservation Agents could assume some of each other's duties on streams and not sacrafice service. I'm pretty sure most people are sick and tired of paying any law enforcement salaries to sit in trees and bust kids smoking pot. Very stupid use of precious state resources IMO.

The Nianga needs its water patrol in a bad way. They talk about the Current River and Jacks being a party spot. The Nianga is the same way, to say all the Water Patrol does is bust on kids smoking tree is just not true. In the summer they need to be on the river for a safty percation for sure. Just last week a kid was killed at the Huzzah in Steelville for jumping off a cliff into a six foot of water. If you loose Officers I'm sure you will here about things like this on the Nianga. As for Conservation Agents they don't only bust on partys, they're the ones protecting most of the water ways from things like fishing w/o a license and size limits. As well as poaching game or gigging game fish. I think Jay nixson need to think about this one real hard before he makes a cut. Alot of people in Missouri cherish the outdoors and if its one thing we have is great rivers and lakes. They need to stay that way!

IMO.....

This statement is about as far from teh truth as it could be. Waterpatrol is definately a necessity.

Opinions are a good thing they are what keep us free. Just ask Iranians.

BTW which part did you see as untrue?

FYI: Waterpatrol can't be everywhere on a river so party control is out of the question, beside the partiers could care less about a presence on the river. Have you ever watched them? they don't give a darn about anything except getting messed up and if jail is part of it so be it.

Once again if you don't like party people avoid the river on saturday and sunday.

The NFoW and Bull Shoals in MO currently has only one water patrol officer...I'd prefer that they kept him on staff. I really couldnt care less about folks having fun, but I think there needs to be some sort of LEO activity in the area. LEO's have the power to introduce a lot of misery into your life if they choose to, but for the most part they play a positive role by providing some deterance. Last thing that I want to see is the NFoW to become a haven for rowdies because LEO activity is non-existant......The NFoW gets a lot of float traffic on the weekend, but its never as bad as some of the more notorious rivers around the state. I'd like to keep it that way. Cheers.

They need to add about 30 more agents on the Niangua alone. I will hate to see what will happen when there are none. Myself and most the people I know dont even think about going there anymore its horriable. Heck I wont even go to Bennet because its too close to there.

One thing I do think they should do is to have all the outfitters that rent canoes down there responsiable for the cleanup of the streams. Pass the cost on to the customers with more than a six pack in their boat and see what that does to improve the stream.
