Paola Cat Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Fished the park on Sunday. It wasn't as good as the week before but still OK. Fished with KSBASS and his son. Fished the C&R and down in the campground area. Primary patterns: beetle (KS caught quite a few), zebra midge, olive leech, crackleback, micro egg, EHC, and renegade. Pretty hot in the PM but not too bad. Snapped quite a few off today using the 7X. PC Cheers. PC

Then switched to a rusty brown/orange and did as well. Sounds like your getting some fishing in? Been to BSSP lately? Headed down there this afternoon as soon as I can get out of the office. Pat
Paola Cat Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Pat .... Yep .... been doing some fishing. No luck on a job yet. It's been about 3 weeks since I've been to BSSP. Thinking about going down later on in the week. PC/Mike Cheers. PC

NoLuck was down there Monday slaying them with his new WINSTON in the high bank area with his specially designed PP zebra midges. Pat

Flysmallie Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Snapped quite a few off today using the 7X. PC Man I'm not a fan of the 7X stuff. It seems like every time I use it I end up loosing a lot of flies. I really hate that because I know that there is a fish swimming around with my hardware in its mouth. I guess all the years of bass fishing created some problems for me!! Thanks for the report. I haven't been to RR since the end of C&R season. Time to get back down and see if anything wants to eat a big streamer.
Paola Cat Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 I hear ya. I'm kind of hit-n-miss on the 7X. I fish quite a few patterns where the hits come on the strip or swing .... the hits can be pretty hard. I keep having to tell myself to calm it down a bit to get a good hook-up. The water's low and clear and lots of willing fish to take a dry, SH, or crackleback. I fish those patterns for awhile and then come back with the leech or bugger on 6X and take a few more. PC Cheers. PC
