flyfshn Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 what would it be? The one tool/thing that you never leave home without? Boga? Favorite knipper, hemostat, thermomoter? Net? Dry fly floatant? jjtroutbum Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Gonna have to say my flip focals. I can do most anything else almost as fast some other way, but tying tiny fly onto gross diameter tippets takes forever If I can't see em. Zack Hoyt Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 My favotire "tool" to take fishing would be Michael Kyle......but I dont think that is what you meant. I have to say my hemostats(actually hemos, knippers, etc, all in one) would be my "gotta have" on the water. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions

Oh, he's a "tool" all right! ha Rich Looten Springfield, Missouri "If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong."- John Gierach
Flysmallie Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Oh, he's a "tool" all right! ha You guys have issues. Has to be hemostat for me. I can't stand not being able to get a fly out quickly and easily. Beer would be a close second and I guess I would choose Michael Kyle third.
Micheal Kyle Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Well why you are standing on the bank trying to figure out how you are going to catch fish with your tools. I will be catching fish because my favorite tool will be my line with a hook already attached. I can make a rod and keep the line in my pocket. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
DaddyO Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I'd have to say my flip down eye glasses. Followed by Nippers followed by hemostats. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.

Uh...........I think that you are the only one that forgot to bring a rod. And that was really stupid seeing how you own a fly shop and all. I can just see you out there with the antenna you stole off my car using it for a rod and totally kicking my butt at fishing. Maybe you could just make you own line there too MacGyver!!
KCRIVERRAT Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 A guide... never fly fished. Maybe if some of you trout guys would ever respond to some of us smallmouth guys... this forum might come together a little bit more. I've made a few comments about trout fishing, and I sure enjoyed laker67's story. Awesome! You sound like a humble guy laker. I love the trout fishing posts as much as the smallie posts... sorry Chief! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS

I agree we need more people talking about smallie fishing but it has picked up a lot this year.
