Water clarity is normal

Walleye are fair to good on the flats, points and humps lake wide. Use a 1/8 oz pony head and a half a night crawler and drift over the walleye in about 18 foot of water. Use your electronics to locate the fish. We are catching lots of walleye but some have been a little smaller than earlier in the year. Tuesday night we caught 15 fish total.

Crappie are good to excellent on jigs and minnows in brush piles in 20 foot of water. Lots of big crappie are being caught! We had 2 limits yesterday and a limit this morning on jigs and minnows. Fish them vertically and pay real close attention to the line. Some of the fish are just eating and you will see your line start to tighten up real slow, just set the hook and have fun (and hope it isn't another limb)

Bass have been hitting great on plastics in 8-15 foot of water. Some fish are also coming on crankbaits on main lake points and a few are still being taken out of the brush piles around the state park area. If you are looking just to catch fish for fun, don't overlook the schooling shad. There are lots of kentucky bass under them and these schools can have some bigger fish mixed in with them.

Catfish are excellent on main lake flats on fresh shad. Drift with the wind between 8-15 foot. Great way to catch fish and take a kid out to have fun. Just don't lay your fishing rod down and walk away.

July ranked up there with some of the best fishing in the state at Stockton Lake. Everyone that has went out has been catching fish and having fun. It's difficult to release some of these fish, but try to remember the more you release the more everyone gets to catch later. If your freezer is already full, just have fun with the catching part and go home and eat some of the ones you already have. If we all practice catch and release then there will always be enough out there to eat for dinner whenever we get hungry.
