Had a full day yesterday and a 1/2 today both on the lower end.

Yesterday with Bob V. from Joplin good fisherman and a heck of a custom lure painter; 30+ fish and 10 keepers, early morning topwater bite gave up about 12 fish with 3 keepers a mix of KY's & smallmouth. All on super spook jr. and sammy 95.

They quit around 9:00 and we started drop shotting tree tops around 30' - 45' over whatever. Did that for the rest of the trip with about 20 or so fish including 5 more keepers all KY's. Most of the fish came on Robo Worm Aarons Magic or Chomper purple/brown worm.

If you can get one to come out of a tree and bite right now more will follow.

Today was a different story, little surface activity, had one small KY on a spook, worked several locations over with a live crawer on a drop shot and managed only 12 fish and 3 keepers in four hours. Most of the fish were around the 35' mark around trees but not in them. Much tougher day.

Eric, you pretty much hit it right on for me also. Just still flat bathtub water at the Knob this Am. Only 1 on top and nothing on the Swimmer. Hooked up on several on a Jig and a rig, but not solid enough to get to the house. Bite was very lite and tenitive.

When to the spoon and drop shot at 7:30 and I hate to be there that early in the morning, as for the most part the fish are not positioned correctly. Just mostly a bunch of singles running around in all areas of the water column.

BP Lazer Eye for us in 1/2 was the best deal until about 10 o'clock, when the Chompers Plum worm started to take over. On the early junk, Scott hooked up with two really nice keeper K's on the spoon, on the same drop, for a sweet double. I remove the occopus rig from the hook and add a number 4 gami. I then slide the occtopus rig to the head of the spoon and you have a super stinger. Worked more than once for us today. ;)

As for me as well, like we talked about after our trips today at the ramp, slow, light and just a tough bite for sure. From what Bill is talking about on his post sounds pretty close to the DAM area as well. Fish are there but scattered and roaming around in very small groups or pods and just because you find the fish does mean they will bite. Early in the day we did get into a few small keeper spots early on the spoon in 30 feet of water on a big dock, even had a Nice Cat on a spoon and a few smaller whites and some short spots. We all changed over to the crawlers after 8:00 am, and was just happy to get what we could the rest of the day. Still a nice, fun, laid back day of fishing, just would have liked some bigger fish around to display what this lake has to offer. But thinking about it now I guess it is good that it slowed on alot of these spots with the Silver Nitttttro following everyone around, next time there will be a discussion... Got a big group in the AM going to K/C and give a few spots down that way a try.. Will let you know if it is any better that way...
