The water releases have made the Tailwaters very hard to fish. There have been time of low water for a few hours when fishing has been good, but wading during release is not recommended. The drawdown has been slowing from the 24/7 plan over the last few days. Schedule looks like there will be low or no releases during the mornings. Fish should be fat after feeding during the releases. Scuds and sowbugs will have been worked loose by the higher water movement and trout should be keying in on those. Also with the summer months, midge hatches are an everyday occurance. Copper johns and Hares Ear Nymphs are good representations of dead or dying insects, so always keep these handy.

They are not. All waters have reached conservation pool, so 24/7 generation is done. Looks like for the most part they are turning on the water between noon and 2pm. Morning fishing has been good until the fog lifts. It seems the fish gorged during the higher waters, so they are taking flies and lures very lightly.

Our local fly fishing club is having an outting to Beaver on Sunday if you are interested in attending. Usually about ten guys show up and fish. I wont be able to go, but Ken(our president) will be there and would be more than happy to introduce you around. I think they are meeting about 7am. Feel free to pm me about the outting, or if you are local to NW Ark we would love to have you visit one of our club meetings.

Good luck and tightlines.

I apologize for the delay. This is Tightlines Fly Fishers and I believe they are meeting at the Dam Ramp around 7am. I am not going to be able to make it, but just jump right in.
