I have aquired a Penn Peerless No.9 and am looking to sell it.If you aren't familiar it is one of the best levelwinds made. It is 20+ years old and in excellent condition. Still has the spare pawl in the screw holder on the side. I bought it for surf fishing on the Texas coast and decided to go a different route. It would be excellent for paddlefish snagging or catfishing.$55.00 shipped.I don't have a digital camera but will try to get some picks together.Message me if interested and hope everyone had a blessed Easter.Copper@tele-onecom.net Also, I would be willing to trade for a Battenkil 8/9 fly reel.

I'll give you 50 cents! :P

I have no use fishing the waters I'm fishing, suprised nobody seemed even a little bit interested. Put it on ebay.

Hope you're doing well and catching lots of fish. I may have to get some surf fishing info from you later, taking the clan of girls to Gulf Shores in June. Always wanted to try fishing from the beach, but have no idea what I'm doing.

Go to a local bait shop or marina and by some shrimp. Put the shrimp on a bait rig and cast it out as far as possible. You'll be supprised how many fish you'll catch. I took the family down a few years ago for spring break to a resort near Fort Morgan. We hired a guide for a half day outing on the mobile bay and caught many Sheepshead on light spinning tackle. It was a great time. The guide gave me some of the left over bait, and I took it back to the beach and catch quite a few fish all small, but several species. Sand shark, whiting, catfish, some type of ray. I was supprised at how many fish were in the waters along the beach.

Yup, ya never know what you're gonna catch on the coast.I haven't tried bait fishing the surf yet but have fished the jetties. There's all kinds of critters swimmin around those rocks. I watched a guy last year pull a 30+lb. Red out of Aransas Pass. The key to those fish is live shrimp from what I understand. I'm going in June or July to Galveston if I can afford the gas at $15.00 a gallon. Guess I'd better find a surf rod for that reel and hit the beach.

Flysmallie, I've been killin the Bass down here.Mostly the private lake that I fish.If you'll PM me your mailing address I'll send you a couple of my flies that I tie for LMB and you can try them on the Smallies.
