patfish Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 This is the biggest LM bass I have ever landed. 21" - didn't get girth or weight, wanted to get it back in the water ASAP. Special thanks to my best bud Sherwood Flycaster for the invite and insight. I'm not exactly a great bass fisherman... or even a good one for that matter.
rps Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Handsome fish. Chunky fish. Call it 6 and no one will argue. I love the summer when the fish colors become so dark.
Bman Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 WOO HOO! What a toad. Way to go! The only good line is a tight line
et84 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 NICE bucketmouth, Pat!! 21" is a monster no matter what the weight. Glad you stuck 'em back in the water ASAP- gives us other fisherman a chance to hook up with the beast. "Sometimes it seems like such a hard life, but there's good times around the bend. The last week has been the best bass fishing I have ever seen in Lake Sherwood. Even more congratulations on the release. There aren't enough big bass in Sherwood, and every trophy needs to be caught more than once.
Members Sherwood Flycaster Posted August 17, 2009 Members Posted August 17, 2009 T'was a great day, eh! 'Cept that swirling wind, a motor that just refuses to simply run consistently, me gettin' Clunned (inside joke), wrappin' line in the trolling motor during a 'Clunn' on our last stretch of water, and having to call it a day! Come out ag'in soon, brutha! Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. Members smallmouth61 Posted August 17, 2009 Members Posted August 17, 2009 Gorgeous Bass! What a hog!
Greg Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Just curious: Caught on a fly rod? I'm just asking because I know from your posts you fly fish a lot. Either way a beautiful fish though. patfish Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 Oh man! I wish Greg!!! I would have done a back flip out of the boat into the lake if I would have gotten em on the flyrod. One that big on the fly is on the list of things to do though....
