Had some company coming over and needed some fresh fillets - and Taney provided!!

Fish were biting good today - got down to the docks early (about 4:00 am) and had a limit of five by 6:15! Three of em were smallish rainbows, but two were decent browns caught on brown 1/16 oz. jigs bounced off the bottom. Bite was real hard two on the jigs (put out two rods with powerbait, and jig fished with the third). I'll definitely be down again later this week!

Fished up in the trophy area later and caught several rainbows on smoke curly tailed grubs, including one 20 incher! Whata day!! Hooked on in the gills and he didn't make it, so I ended up keeping him. Fish the grubs real slow and steady - I've found the Berkley scented ones work best!

Cheers!

Is this supposed to be a joke? Scented plastic grubs in the Trophy area....a 5 trout limit, I sure thought it was 4!! A couple "decent" browns, I hope they were over 20"??? Kept another 20" fish the same day after the 5!!!!???? OH MY!! I am far from a conservationist, but......? Hmmm!!

A fool with a plan is always better than a genius with NO PLAN!!!!

Yeah, I hope this report is a joke. Keeping 5 in the morning-illegal. Keeping browns that were probably below 20 inches-illegal. Using a scented grub-illegal, since it's illegal to use any soft plastic in the trophy area. Then keeping another brown later-illegal, since he had already kept over his limit earlier in the day.

Do people not read the regs at all before they go out??? or do they just not care?

well, he may not be legal at all, but at least he is all the way honest. Fly Guy you may want to delete your post. The "limit" is aptly named since it is the "limit" of fish that you can catch in a day and the "limit" for browns is 1 over 20 inches. I'm surprised no one called you on it actually. please take the time to read the regs. Most everyone else has and abides by them, you should too. I can almost understand the ignorance of the soft plastics, even though there are signs everywhere. not good not good at all.

Rip the eggs out of female trout and use them for bait. If all else fails, a cherry bomb thrown upstream from your position works extremely well. Have your net handy. Cheers to you also and thanks for the fishing tips.

It's hard to keep track of how many rules were even broken in this report.
