Had a great day at the K today.I even caught a 6 lb flathead on a crappie jig this am.Was suprised at how calm the lake was , and marveled at the beauty of nature.Saw a very large flight of doves early, many hummingbirds on thebluff getting ready to leave and green wing teals flying around.NOw I get back to the ramp, need I say the ramp I have used for 40 plus years .I get a note about how concerned someone was of my parking prowess. He must know me personally because I can and am often an as-ho-e.But the thing that bothered me most was he was so conciderate in bringing to my attention the fact of my , in his mind , lousey parking job , that he forgot to concider the chance that I had a pencil too, only a very few vehicles there and I dumped in before daylight, I was the 2nd vehicle on an acre parking lot. If he doesnt know how to back a boat trailer to a single lane ramp, I cant seem to think my having a clue ill help him at all. I promise Ill try harder to please you note writer , and If you would like to debate this further Leave me a note inthe rain and ill do what I did to your first note, I wiped my tail with it........................

T'wasn't me - I promise!

Whoever wrote that note should have been there a couple months ago when the water was up and there was barely room to park 4 rigs and leave the launch ramp clear - and THEN someone got to spinning wheels in the middle of what was left of the lot and dug two pits you had to work around. I did some real creative backing then.

I bet instead of parking the nose of your truck against the bluff, you pulled a hard left coming up the ramp and parked parallel to the bank, by the water. Nothing wrong with that, everybody does it - including me sometimes.

About a month ago I was coming into K Dock and mine was the last rig left in the lot. As I got close a little car drove in, an Accord I think, and a young woman got out with a little dog. She was just walking, letting the dog play, and enjoying the lake, nothing wrong with that. Trouble is, with the whole parking lot empty she parked her Accord right across the top of the ramp, crossways!

I killed the motor and sat 30 yards off the bank, just staring at her. I could tell I was making her uncomfortable - and all at once it was like a light bulb went on, she went to the car and moved it off the ramp. She just wasn't thinking, but it sounds like something one of my kids would do. A whole empty parking lot - and where do you park the car?

Hey, congrats on the 6 lb. flathead on a crappie rig. I bet that put up some fight!

Wasn't me either! Rigs pulled off immediately to the left of the ramp don't bother me a bit... why would it?

My guess would be the note writer is a first timer or a very occasional visitor, which probably makes it even more irritating!

Kdock is an interesting lot when it gets busy... everyone seems to be in tune with the idea of parking nose-in to the bluff, but when that side is full, you never know. I've been the first to angle in on the left, even before the right side is full, just to make a "template"... surprised I haven't got "the note" at some point.
