Quillback Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Well I made it out there at 11:00 AM, fished the dam area until the evening. Picked up half a dozen bronzebacks on a crawdad pattern Bandit 200, and a couple of nice spots on the spoon. The spots are fat but the smallies are skinny (see picture). As the evening set in the lake turned to glass, saw quite a few shad dimpling the surface, so I'm sure the stripers are around.
jeb Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I was out Sunday, too. Twice actually, morning (6am-Noon) and then for a couple of hours before dark. Fished near Prarie Creek marina and up near Hickory Creek. Caught some nice LM and spots, and even a decent stripper on a spook towards midday. Not many pleasure boaters out stirring up the lake, so a good day. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Quillback Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Yeah I hear ya on the pleasure boats, I only saw a handful all afternoon, it sure makes fishing more enjoyable when you don't have those things buzzing by every 10 minutes.
jeb Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I was out for a few hours before dark yesterday, and catching a bunch of NICE Kentucky's! Biggest one was over 3lbs, and tried to get himself tangled up in some submerged trees. Just as I got him in the boat, a bass tourney flight was going by on the main lake out of Prarie Creek, all full tilt racing down lake. Kind of laughed to myself thinking they were missing out on some good fishing within a mile or two of where they launched, w/o having to burn that extra fuel! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
