Whodat Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 A friend said something about a Carp tourney this Sunday. Bring your snagging rigs, wheatie balls and bow and arrows. Everyone is meeting at Turkey Creek Island that morning to get futher directions.Chum is legal. If anyone is spear fishing, bring your diving markers. All meat will be donated that is not wanted.Explosives can not be used!!!!!
Whack'emGood Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 All meat will be donated that is not wanted. You said Carp MEAT... yuck! "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 You said Carp MEAT... yuck! There's a cafe in Omaha that does a booming business serving fried carp. You must have cooked it wrong. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Whodat Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 A friend of mine use to make salmon patty's out of carp meat.I wouldn't try it though. All I could think about is those big orange lips.

Whodat Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 oneshot,How do you cook them? Pressure cooker or what?
adjust555 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Sorry, I heard this tourney is a farce. There are no regatta permits on the mo water patrol site. How legal could it be.
Whack'emGood Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 There's a cafe in Omaha that does a booming business serving fried carp. You must have cooked it wrong. I wouldn't cook it period. Use to find it in the Store but they quit handling it. I wonder why? No offense guys... I'm just messin' with ya. Seriously though, I can't bring myself to eat carp... different strokes for different folks.
