slider Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Mekayla and I had been to the woods 3 times this year and hadn't seen anything. We looked at pictures on the game camera and the deer were coming in to the foodplot about 4:00 and we couldnt get there soon enough after work and school. Today we got there about 3:30 and 4 deer ran across the foodplote before we were on stand. We got to the stand and hadn't been there 10 minutes when 2 deer showed up right under the stand. She took a shote and was low, the deer jumed around a little and settled back down, when she gote her secound shot it was on the mark. The deer ran about 50 yards never made it out of the foodplote before it went down. She had a chance to kill the other one but said " I'm gonna waite fore a buck". If you look really close you can se Mekayla and I in the stand in the left upper corner. This was her first bow kill. Slider DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
Bird Watcher Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 This post is my highlight of the year on this site so far this year. That is what it is all about my man, or at least to me it is. The greatest thing that could ever happen in all of my outdoor ventures would be if some day my 11 month old daughter and I share a similar trip. I would gladly exchange one trip like that for all of the other trips I have ever taken combined. Congratulations and well done.
patfish Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 You and your daughter in the stand pic is AWESOME!
Tightline Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Good job Mekayla, and that is awesome you got a pic of a deer passing you two in the stand. But I do think your gonna have to get some camo paint and smear all over that white beard,,,you no. So much for needing a bow that pulls 70 lbs and shoots 300 ft per second just to bag a deer!!
jjtroutbum Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 You and your daughter in the stand pic is AWESOME! Ditto that and a thumbs up for quality time spent.
