I am heading to beaver for the first time wed (10-14) :D . I am looking for advice on where to put in at and where to start. What is working right now to catch them? I see that people are using jigs... color wise are you guys throwing the greens (pumpkin, watermelon, etc)? I am only going to be there one day so I don't have a lot of time to figure it out  . I am really looking forward to coming to this fishery! thanks for everybody's input

As you can see from the thread I started today, the fishing is a little confused right now. I guess the fish are transitioning back into the creeks and coves right now, so are kind if in between. I'd suggest putting in at Rocky Branch and fishing the coves in the arms in that area.

Ok, I have located Rock Branch on the map. is there a gate there? is there a use fee?

There is a gate and I think the use fee is $4. They do have a really nice ramp though. Fish those mail lake points in and around the rocky branch area, there are smallies all over the place on those things. Throw a jig or a shakey head. There are also some spoon fish on the deep trees still but not as many as there were a month ago. Seems they have started to move a little shallower in the last 2 weeks. If you fish that shakey head with a little worm you will get a pretty fair amount of bites.

Thanks for all the help guys. I had a very productive day yesterday. I caught about a dozen fish; all spots and only a few keepers. I had a blast though! I caught them all on a shaky head (spot remover jig head w/ zoom watermelon seed finesse worm w/ tail dipped in yellow spike it). I had several strikes on my chatter bait rigged w/ lake fork magic shad, but no hook-ups... dull hook??? All were caught around the rocky branch area. Thanks again!

Glad you did well, and missed the worst of the rains.
