Ämp Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 at first warming period the crawdad bite was great . bluff side and chunk rock is key due to low oxygen near the dead weed beds. let your soft plastic or jig fall and set for 15.sec. if nothing happens rip it a few times really fast let sit for 10sec.. then rinse and repeat. Lots of quality if you can find the group , all spots. good luck ps . got a lot of bites during that rip and set move. its purely a reaction strike. if you drag it in slow they dont like it as much.. .

Ämp Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 most times the fall pattern sets them back towards creeks or major obstructions along channels going back to said creeks. But in the morning I have found since the bluffs warm quicker they are most productive early. I would stay close to the river for sure though the rest of the day. .

I'm thinking of trying there and the dam spill over. do some shore fishing
Ämp Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 I could see the mix of current and warmth being helpful but I have never had that much luck around the areas that get fished to death like that lil spot does. .
Members Dogtown65 Posted October 29, 2009 Members Posted October 29, 2009 Does anybody know any bank fishing areas on Fellows. Work till @ 22:00 hrs, and seems all I can get to is where that road splits the upper end of the lake in half. Have had spotty luck there. A school of whites now and then, and a big bass, now and then in spring fishing the lake side of the road rip rap. Thanks...Bulldog
Daveinozark Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 yeah I've never had luck there either, just wondering if it got better in the winter. i've tried the dam spill over before and gotten some hits there and hear a lot of stories of big catches there. I haven't been over there since all the weather, I bet that's a good spot to try now
Members AmericanAngler Posted November 1, 2009 Members Posted November 1, 2009 Try the east end I get good crappie & bass there. I used to get out of working in the Downtown Club then hit Fellows and Mcdaniel at 0200 - 0530 if I got off early it would be 0000hrs bet bring a lantern and rope for Mcdaniel. "Let me fish or else"
