Anyone know what the status is on Browns right now? Seems like white jigs are the going thing. Do they generally hang out between outlet #3 to the Rebar Hole this time of year?

Thanks!

From the "lack of" fishing reports, you have two possible answers. One, it is so good that the locals are afraid to tell anyone. Or two, it is so p poor that they are afraid to tell anyone. Water temps are still 60 degrees below the dam. The crappie, assorted basses, and walleye will be on the search for spawning grounds. Gar, catfish, blue herons, and river otters will be looking for the feast.

Sounds like a Big Smith song

I would say that with the temps where they are that is pretty slow with the Browns, not that they actually will spawn in Taneycomo but they need the lower temp to tell their brain that it is time. We really need the water temp to get back down around low 50' to high 40's.

I bet though you can not keep the Bows off of your line but I am sure it is a little slower than usual.

Good Luck.

If o2 levels are higher coming out of the hatchery, the bows will be stacked like the after thanksgiving day sale. They will be lethargic and slow moving. Best to get rid of those multiple fly rigs or you will be ripping and tearing flesh all day. But hey, they are not wild fish, so who cares.

The fish do not know they are in the outlet

We should change the name "out" let to "gaunt" let.

No offense meant here so please don't jump all over me.

The times I have been to Taney there are so many people packed around those outlets it looks like opening day at Montauk...just not my kind of fishin.

I'd rather catch a fish that has been raised to stay away from people rather than come to them...their food source considered here, pellet fish ya know.

Just doesn't seem right when the fish don't spook. Not sayin it's not fishin just not my bag.

A good day on the river to me is seeing absolutaly no-one and the fish spook at the hint of a fisherman.

JMHO...generally not worth much, lol

later on

My friends say I'm a douche bag ??

Well you have done it now! Your assumption of an outlet fisherman is all wrong. You can not, and will not, offend or hurt the feelings of an outlet fisherman. They enjoy conditions like opening day. There is an art to timing your cast and then getting tangled up with a fish on. If you can land that fish with six other lines attached, you have mastered the art. I will be down in your neck of the woods tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Laker,

When and where you gonna be...the only outlet on the Current is from the sewage lagoon just below the park, lol.

Fishin should be good, weather and water are fine right IMO.

Oh yeah...there is one more outlet in the park itself...where the rearing pools dump tons of crap in the headwaters to one of the nicest streams in the midwest...makes little sense to me, may as well have a pig farm directly at the head of the watershed. Dangit...there I go again, lol...JMO.

Going to be in the heartbreak area. That outlet at the sewage lagoon does not have a big enough crowd for me.
