Samkam1 Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I have a video on my youtube channel that gets me ready for Beaver winter striper fishing -- click here for the link
Quillback Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Nice one! Nice to have that glassy water on a winter day also.
Members coloradofly Posted October 28, 2009 Members Posted October 28, 2009 I have heard rumors that the stripers hit top water again in November.. From any of your experiences, is this true? If so, what part of the lake are they typically in november?

Hear its cooler up river, but not that much action yet, anywhere. Up River can be good in the winter. Best dock to call is Hickory Creek at 479-751-7366 to get report, water clarity, & temp. Its getting close up there now. I would like to see one more cold front to get temps down a little more. If its muddy up there, get below mudline or above . Allways clears out north of 12 bridge. GREAT VIDIO, Best I can tell on graph & gps you guys were near power lines up warr eagle. At 46.7. Looks like Dec.
brownieman Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Hey Sam, IMO you would do a little better if you would get a few more lines in the water, lol...hope you're using umbrellas on most of them. Do you give boat rides?...trade you a 'walk your butt off for miles' on the Current for a strenous boat ride that from the looks of that water would beat my old butt to death, lol. Looks like you're the man on those stripers...nice fish. later on My friends say I'm a douche bag ?? Avatar...mister brownie bm <><

Looks like you're the man on those stripers...nice fish. later on Hey guys thanks for the replies. We like to get as much bait in the water as possible until we find the fish...then we will go down to 6-8 lines. We have had 8 fish on at once and landed 6 of them...one being 31lbs. That was a mess...but a fun mess at that :-) If you want to talk about a strenous, check out our lake erie vid and imagine a 2 hour boat ride in those waves (5-8 footers)...now that was fun. The starcraft held up great though. Were heading down this weekend for sat and sun...still contemplating where to go. We will likely put in at Rocky and start there. Good fishing! SK
Members fishofexcellence Posted October 29, 2009 Members Posted October 29, 2009 Hey Samkam. Was planing on camping at Rock Branch to look at water from 5 to Prairee. Rates go down Sunday, might not get down till then. Maybe we will see ya. My names on side of boat. These crazy fish seem to want to stay in summer patern on this end of lake. Didnt pull no Stripers with 5" shad yesterday. Got 2 17' smallmouth & had a 12' spot choke on a bait 1/2 his size. We were from dam to 5, It did look like bait balls are moving closer to the top. GOOD LUCK. If your using shiners would like to know how you do. Thanks for posting, been looking for someone to talk to all week.
KCRIVERRAT Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Three of us took a guide trip last friday the 23rd. Cold, windy, with bands of heavy mist all day. Fishing was tough... one fish in the boat, a 10 pounder. We'd booked for a 1/2 day trip but the guide let us stay out until 1:30. Another group of five were in the other boat out that day. They were scheduled for a 1/2 day also but while on the water they made it a full-day trip. They had a fish per person near quittin' time and just as it looked they had made the wrong decision, the bite took off during the last 45 minutes they were out. Biggest was 26 pounds. They limited out also... great for them, not so for us. I'm gonna try again though! KC HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
KCRIVERRAT Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Great video by the way Sam. My 10 pounder wore me out... can't imagine a 25! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
