Well it seems like when I start a project it gets blown out of proportion. I have added cracklebacks and maybe a streamer to be determined later I alsodecided to tie several dozen of all patterns and split em with my brother and father for the up coming holidays as presents. That will hopefully inspire a few trips for the both of them.

Time to break out the small hooks again for me. Restock midges and Nats some scuds. Apparently I use a lot of the same stuff in the summer. Must be the way in a spring creek or tailwater. Same stuff year round just a lil smaller maybe.

So anyone else care to share what is in or will be in the vise?

Being new to tying probably a lot of mediocore flies, but that's the way to get experience. Plus its a good way to pass the time.

I am a nice uncle who has two equally nice nephews that have taken up flyfishing (but not fly tying). I have been busy cranking out foam extended body grasshoppers (no doubt many of which will be sacrificed to the tree gods) Pretty much have that out of the way now so time to start replenishing the box for next year

I've been so busy I haven't had much time, the last thing I tied was a couple of Bendback Decievers in a baby bass colors. Been meaning to try and post a few new patterns, but I just cannot find any spare time...

Just got back from the Fork last week and brought back a couple of midge patterns I want to tie. Not too much, just a little extra. I keep a running list on my blackberry and I think I currently need some foam hoppers and bream streamers.

For MaxDrown, Start with wooleys. I learned on the wooley, and so most everyone else here did as well. I recently took on a new tyer, and I did not start him with a wooley because we were prepping for a trip and needed to produce some flies. So we started with san juans and herl scuds. both are easy, but he didn't really learn the skills he needs from those flies. We are going to go back and start with the wooley now.

Dano's advice is of course bang on. he taught me to tie too.
