Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 13, 2009 Root Admin Posted November 13, 2009 What killed the big trout wasn't really the EPA or fishing pressure as much as over stocking. MDC simply put too many trout in the lake and the trout ate up all the food, thus didn't grow as big as fast. Even now, if they cut stocking in half or less, the food base would come back. Unfortunately, fishing pressure would drop due to the lack of catchable trout and that, well, just isn't going to happen. Too many businesses depend on trout and gov't depends on the taxes it brings in. Just my opinion - I could be wrong.
