eric1978 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Congrats Eric...get lots of fishing in now....cuz youll be doing less of it in the future;>)! Cheers. Thanks Gavin, and don't say that...I'm supposed to be happy.
Al Agnew Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Everything is a trade-off. Want maneuverability? You gotta sacrifice tracking ability. Want to add weight to regain some of the tracking ability? Then you give up a couple inches of draft and you can't float as shallow. In the whole scheme of things, though, it just depends upon what you think is most important. Personally, I find it easier to learn to turn a good tracking canoe than it is to learn to paddle a highly maneuverable canoe straight and fast. Others may find just the opposite.
Members TwoBrothersCanoe Posted November 21, 2009 Members Posted November 21, 2009 Thanks Kevin! I am glad you like your Brightwater canoe! It is a honor to read your praise. I just wanted to blog a little about the Arkota our new 16' Down River canoe. I will have to agree with all of the posts that it is heavy on the rocker, but that is what we are going for. I wanted a canoe that would be awsome on fast big water. We already have plans for our next model and it will be a tracking canoe with slight Rocker. I have been kicking an idea around... Having a contest to name the next model and the winner getting a free boat. Watch for the contest at TwoBrothersCanoe.com So starting thinking and it could be you! -Louis Ps. The rocker is minimal on the 14'.

What are the specs of the new canoe you're building? I'd like to take a shot at naming that bad boy, but I figured I should know something about it first.
Members TwoBrothersCanoe Posted December 14, 2009 Members Posted December 14, 2009 It will be another 16' canoe. More for general use river/lake. We are still working on the plans for the canoe. Keep on the lookout for updates on our webpage and announcement of the name contest for a free canoe. Louis
