Paola Cat Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I had to make a run up to Cabelas in Kansas City yesterday to pick up some stuff. Anyway .... spent some time in the fly shop and they've got flies on sale for as low as $0.10 each. I heard on another board that Cabelas had a warehouse fly inventory of 30,000 dozen flies and were looking to unload them. Anyway, I bought a few dozen of the $0.10 variety .... it's the principle of it ..... probably didn't need them. They've got a bunch of discounted flies from $0.10-0.62 each. They looked like decent quality flies .... I know Cabelas contracts with some of the biggies. They've also got some good deals on anybody looking to buy RIO lines .... less than 50% off. Thought I'd pass it along. PC Cheers. PC
eric1978 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 That is a good deal on the Rio lines. I was gonna buy a spool yesterday but of course they had every size except the one I needed. Didn't see the 10 cent flies, maybe I should go look closer, but I was at the St. Louis store, maybe they don't have any.
Paola Cat Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 In Kansas City the $0.10 flies were in the open fly bins at the back of the fly shop. They had yellow labels on the bins. PC Cheers. PC
Evolution Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Not fly fishing related but did you happen to see any salmon rod while you were there? I should have took advantage of getting one last year but now regret it. Last time I headed up there (July), they really didn't have anything that was appealing to me.
Geoff Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 hmm looks like i'll have to go up to mine this weekend then "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
eric1978 Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Geoff, I was there yesterday and they don't have any of the 10 cent flies...in fact not too much of anything is marked on sale, although some stuff is. Like PC said, the Rio lines are a good deal, but the Gold isn't on sale, and the rest is getting pretty picked over...just don't get your hopes up too much...not sure why they did it in KC but not STL??? They do have Sage Launch rods for $150, which is a great deal...of course they're not marked, but they are listed on sale on their website.
Geoff Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 ah ok, well maybe i will wait it out then. I will be up there eventually, i did some site to store shiping so i gotta go pick my stuff up when it comes in, plus get some more things.
