ozark trout fisher Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Well, I absolutely can't make it to an Ozark stream this weekend, so I'm gonna be heading down to Busch. Does anyone know what is going on stocking wise? The hotline isn't working. Specifically, have all the trout lakes been stocked at least once or twice?
BredMan Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 They have definitely stocked twice.......last was about 8-10 days ago. Of course all 3 three lakes have been hit pretty heavy since. You really have to fish them hard and it's been pretty tough getting any hits unless you go to the C&R lakes but even those 2 lakes have been kind of tough too. Last Saturday I did manage to hook into one of the few big lunkers they put in which was a thrill for about 5-6 minutes. Pulled line off my reel like he owned it. Eventually wound up in a weed bed where I thought I might be able to grab him somehow (never carry a net). Made another run through the weeds and chucked the hook. The guy across from me was more upset than me! He couldn't believe how big it was and that it got away. Good luck......if the weather stays warm you will have plenty of fishing buddies!

I fished #21 today.... Got a couple to show for it, but it was real slow. A glo-bug was the best for me.
BredMan Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I fished #21 today.... Got a couple to show for it, but it was real slow. A glo-bug was the best for me. Fished 22 and 21.......both extremely slow. Whopping 2 crappie and 1 bluegill on 21. Did not see a single trout taken during the 2 1/2 hours on 22. I then spent about an hour or so on 21. Did manage to get 1 trout on a olive leech. Had a couple hits on a spoon with my spin but that was it. I left around 12:30 when a few truck loads of people showed up with their lawn chairs and nightcrawlers. Good enough indicator for me to leave. May have seen you but I wouldn't have known.

Next weekend I'm heading down to the Current!
