Justin Spencer Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 My name is Justin Spencer and I own and operate Sunburst Ranch campground and canoe rental on the North Fork of the White in southern Missouri. I am an avid fly fisherman and otter trapper trying to spend as much time as my wife will allow on the river. Our house is here at our business between Blair and Patrick Bridges in the Blue Ribbon trout area. Brian and Kyle can probably tell you more about how to catch fish here, but I'll do my best, and can offer any info you might need on the river condition and how the river is fishing. Excited to be on the forum, and am wasting too much time here already. Hope most of you are retired, if not get back to work!! dgames Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Glad to see you on here. I enjoyed my stay at your place in early October before the rain deluge hit and enjoyed the conversation on the ride up to kelly ford.
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Justin, I've been on the North Fork many times, but it's been awhile since my last time. Stayed at Sunburst once back in 1978. What a weekend that was. Used Twin Bridges folks most of the time back then. Floated the upper river for smallmouth. Hale's and Hebron put-in's I used the most. Were you around there in '78 ? I'd bet Sunburst is nothing like it was back then! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS

Gavin Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I wasnt around in 78, but I've been camping at Sunburst since the mid 80's..Justin & Amy are great folks...they've been down there for a good amount of time and I think that they are doing a great job with the place. Best place to stay on the river IMO.
Justin Spencer Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 We've just been through our 6th season here, so relatively new owners. The upper part of the river is still good for smallmouth, it is best to use Twin up there. When I bass fish I usually go over to Bryant Creek, and we take trips over there with most people floating Hodgson Mill to Warren Bridge, some good fishing, no crowds, and wonderful scenery. Don't do that trip very often on weekends in the summer, too busy on this river. Check out our website at Sunburstranchcanoe.com to see what we have done with the place. Used to float and camp overnight on Bryant. It is a great stream. Used "Abandoned River Ranch" back then. The couple who owned it were great people. I remember his name (cause it's mine) Jerry... but I can't recall hers. Kyle Kosovich here on the forum informed me she passed on from cancer. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
