Members SDHaze Posted May 4, 2006 Members Posted May 4, 2006 Hello I have lived in the Branson area for the past thirty eight years. I'm 38 now, so I hope that's makes me a local guy. As a child, I would go fishing with Grandad for Crappie on Bullshoals and Tablerock. (Mostly Bullshoals, although we lived on Tablerock) Tons of Crappie we would catch on both lakes. I remember Grandad would always keep count on how many we caught during the spring and fall seasons. Most years would be upwards of four to five hundred for each spring and fall season. We would never go out if it was cold, very windy, Buzzards were'nt flying, cows laying down, or the barameter falling and so on. HA HA. You know those oldtimers and their ways of thinking. Some I think are true though. I remember catching Crappie that would measure seventeen + inches in Clevenger cove. Where did they go? The biggest I can muster on Tablerock for the past several years is sixteen inches. It is good to see the population of Crappie getting better. I could go on and on about my younger days with Grandad. He taught me a lot, but I still can't catch fish. I have been looking at this site for some time now. I think there are a lot of good topics and opinions on differnet things and would like to express my own opinions and fishing trips. I don't get to fish as much as I like these days, but I try and get out at least once or twice a week. I hope what little information I might give will maybe better someones fishing trip. Thank you
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 4, 2006 Root Admin Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks for jumping in. It's good to have your viewpoint on things living here so long and seeing all the changes.
