Members Matt Madura Posted December 13, 2009 Members Posted December 13, 2009 I hear the new Taneycomo bridge will be starting construction. Can anyone confirm this? Could this mean long periods of 0 generation? Your thoughts?
Terry Beeson Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Could this mean long periods of 0 generation? That's a good one, Matt... But seriously... I've not heard about this. Members Matt Madura Posted December 13, 2009 Author Members Posted December 13, 2009 That's a good one, Matt... But seriously... I've not heard about this. Are we talking the 65 bridge? I got this off of MODOTs webstite for Dec 14-18 2009 Taney County Lake Taneycomo Bridge Project: Branson/Hollister (Taney County) Contractor crews will begin moving in equipment and could begin clearing trees and brush along Route 76/Business 65 on the Hollister side of Lake Taneycomo. Equipment may enter and leave work areas. One-lane traffic is possible during nighttime hours. The work is part of a project to build a new Lake Taneycomo bridge, connecting Branson and Hollister; rehabilitate the existing Lake Taneycomo bridge and build an oval “round-about” on the east side of Lake Taneycomo connecting the two bridges with Route 76/Business 65. Project completion: Dec. 2011.
mosouthpaw Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 that section of taneycomo is a lake, and 0 generation wont benefit the bridge building. youre more likely see more erosion and muddy waters then 0 generation. Bridges have been built w/o draining lakes rivers and oceans for a long time.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 It probably will depend on the design, but they won't stop generating for any length of time. It sounds like they're going to do the same as they did on 65, build a new bridge for other lanes. I don't know about a roundabout though, there isn't a whole lot of room there. It will be interesting to see how they accomplish that. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members freelancer 11 Posted December 15, 2009 Members Posted December 15, 2009 That would be nice. I only stay on that side of the lake in March for the witty tourney, and it is a pain to get to Lilley's.
