Members Jenny @ The Station Posted May 4, 2006 Members Posted May 4, 2006 The fishing this week has been quite good all the way around. The Corp of Engineers have been running water consistently, and lots of it. The bank fishermen have just been hauling in the crappie and whites as well as a few hybrids here and there. Catfishermen report excellent results as to be expected with the water running so much for the first time in quite a while. One friend of mine said the bite was just constant the other night, catching one fish after the other way into the early morning hours. The weather looks to be clear for the weekend. And with the rain we've had, Truman is up nearly 2 feet and LOZ up about 5 feet. I'd not be surprised if they continued running water through the weekend.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 4, 2006 Root Admin Posted May 4, 2006 Man- I love fishing below Truman and would like nothing more to get up there and fish a day. If anyone gets a chance- go. It's great fishing.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Especially if the Wipers are up there. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members Stuartwp Posted May 11, 2006 Members Posted May 11, 2006 I have fished truman tail race on several occasions over the years, but never during the walleye run and never when they where running water out of the gates. Maybe I should change my sign in name to Bad Timing.
