Paola Cat Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Spent the morning and part of the afternoon fishing the Niangua today. Fishing was good .... tons of action. Only saw one other guy. Weather was great. The river is in great shape. PC Cheers. PC

XP 590 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I fished Bennett in the morning then drove down to Barclay for a few hours. The water was beautiful, a little up, and running strong. Was able to land a few rainbows, olive woolly bugger and big #10 Orange/Partridge soft hackles did the trick. When I drove across the Niangua bridge on 64 about 1:00, I saw one lone fisherman downstream by the canoe launch area. That must have been you PC?
Paola Cat Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 XP ..... probably not me at that time .... I was downstream past the island and heading back to the truck. When I got back to the truck there was a guy using a spey rod at the canoe launch .... you probably saw him. Did you see a maroon truck parked right at the entrance to the park .... just at the end of the 64 bridge. I was there just a little past 1:00. How was the action at Barclay? Sounds like there was enough to keep it interesting. PC Cheers. PC

flyfishmaster Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 PC, Great report and sounds like you had good day too. FYI: I noticed you have built in escape paths in your net for the smaller fish. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!

I'd like to try out one of those ghost bags. I've got a lippa for anything big. PC Cheers. PC
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I've got a lippa for anything big. Me too, wish I could remember where I put it? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Paola Cat Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Me too, wish I could remember where I put it? Exactly .... it's never been used .... LOL. PC Cheers. PC
