KCRIVERRAT Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 One local station has us possibly receiving 13" here in KC. Sleeting hard now at 5:00. Gonna get my wife out of the hospital one way or another tomorrow. Best Christmas present I could ask for if I had to ask. Hope all of you are being safe... Dutch Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I hope all goes well for you and yours. Listening to the weather has caused me to get my brass monkeys out of the yard and into the barn.
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 I hope all goes well for you and yours. Listening to the weather has caused me to get my brass monkeys out of the yard and into the barn. Thanks Dutch... hope your barn is heated by a wood-burning stove! That's my dream hangout. Along with a referidgerator and freezer. In the ozarks of course... KC HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS

Dutch Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 My b-i-l just called from TX and said he heard that I-44 was closed west of Joplin. I guess stuff is headed our way for sure.
Paola Cat Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 It's 9:30 PM ..... in the middle of a full blown blizzard here in Paola. PC Cheers. PC
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Sounds like the best Christmas gift there KC! We got somewhere near an inch of sleet/ice mix. Snowing like crazy now. Already a couple or 3 inches. Tomorrow would be a beautiful day for a Ozark float! Not so much for the fishing but, just the beauty. creek wader Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 We got over 8" of snow on top of 1/2" of sleet on top of 1/4" of ice, and it's still snowing. Sustained winds at 28 mph with gusts of 40 mph. I've got a 4' plus drift outside my garage doors, that extend out over 20'. No place to go with the snow. Current wind chills now at 15 degees below zero. I hate winter. ..Merry X-Mas from St. Joseph, Mo. wader
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 Well, some of the weather guys here in KC ended up cryin' wolf just a bit. At least as far as the possible 13" report! I'd guess 6" at most. Hard to tell with all the drifting. Got a two to three foot drift the length of the driveway I've got to shovel to get the vehicle out of the garage. MERRY CHRISTMAS! (I guess?)
