Members Bullcreek Posted January 9, 2010 Members Posted January 9, 2010 Four of us are planning a trip to Lake Fork in March. Does anyone have any recommendations on lodging that has a ramp near by. We would like to stay in cabin big enough for four people to save on cost.
Members mo4packer Posted January 9, 2010 Members Posted January 9, 2010 Lake Fork Marina is only place to stay! have a launch, nice tackle store, and a dock. Best of all they have Moser's resturant at the resort (My oh My the Pie)! I don't know exactly when you are going but they do have some 4 person cabins but they fill fast. March is very busy on Fork so plan most of your fishing during the week if at all possible. Call ASAP because they will probably be full, just get on the waiting list. Good luck!

I agree, the best place to eat at Fork (at least back in the '90's). I lived in Dallas and fished Fork a lot. Every where around Fork is usualy full Feb. March and April. If you get a 10 plus pounder Lake Fork Taxidermy Makes excelent replicas. They have won all kinds of awards and made the big fish thing for Rojas in the 90's. I am very happy with the one they did for me. Not cheap but worth it. Becky B
eric1978 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 +3 I stayed at Lake Fork Marina twice and they are great there and have everything you need from tackle to good food. It's been more than 10 years since I was there, but it sounds like they're still going strong. Recommended. Oh, but take your beer down with you. When I was there it was a dry county and we had to make an hour trip (one way) to pick up some brewskies. Might want to check if you plan on putting on a buzz after a nice day of hauling hogs. Have fun. It's a killer lake. Big fish, lots of fish. I'm jealous.

Kicknbass Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Stay in the channels, it's a tough lake on lower units. Lots of shallow flats and the lake is full of standing timber. If your not familiar w/ the lake, you may want to stay off plane. I've fished w/ a guide on the lake on several occasions, and he knew the lake and would take some strange routes up the lake to stay in the channel or in the cut of a highline or old road right of way. When you get in the upper stretches of the lake arms you may have a desire to cut across a point on plane. Don't do it. " Too many hobbies to work" - "Must work to eat and play"
Members Bullcreek Posted January 10, 2010 Author Members Posted January 10, 2010 Thanks for all the good information guys. Lake Fork Marina was full already. We got a cabin at Big Mouth Lodge which is in the Mustang area.
