ollie Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Got out today, but not until around 10:00 this morning. Started out somewhere on Capps and caught only two. One bow and a really nice brown. The brown measured 19" and the bow was just a consulation prize at 12". Had the whole creek to myself until I meet up with a guy named Jeff who had caught a couple. it was very cold, but the wind wasn't too bad until later in the day. Tried all kinds of colors until I caught the brown first on a brown and olive jig I tie. I stayed with that one until I lost it later in the day. That creek will be a force to reckon with in a couple of years for the browns. Buzz Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 That creek will be a force to reckon with in a couple of years for the browns. I'll agree with that. I've caught more good sized browns this year than any other. Although, I have yet to catch any over 16". One good fish can make an otherwise crappy day worth while. You are the Capp's Creek Jiggin'Guru. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
drew03cmc Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 That is awesome Ollie! I would've loved to see that fish! That creek endeared itself to me when I was down there and I am envious of those who can spend a lot of time on it. Andy
ollie Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 It's easy enough for me to get down there on the weekends. It's only 17 miles from the house or about 20 minutes and I'm there. You just got to know where to find them!
