Quillback Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Has the ice melted in the Hickory Creek/War Eagle arm/White river areas? Report in the paper said it was still frozen over from Hickory creek upstream, but hoping to get a more up to date report, as I would like to get the boat up that way this weekend.

This 50 degree drizzle should dissolve the thinner portions of ice sheets. Also, the newspaper is always a week behind, minimum.

jeb Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I went the other way from Prarire Creek last night, up to Van Hollow (Rocky Branch) area. No ice anywhere that I could see. Water temp was 39. Fish are not jumping in the boat, but catchable. I saw some dead shad on the surface in some areas near Rocky, so I guess they must be dying off in this cold water?
