Members jnorman Posted January 25, 2010 Members Posted January 25, 2010 Hey guys, I am planning on coming down on February 15 to do some walleye fishing. Based on past years, how is the fishing in mid February? Also, what method/lures would you recommend (i.e.-trolling, jigging, etc.). This will be my first trip down to Stockton so I'm just trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks. Jared The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
shockley32 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Jared, I don't know much about walleye but plan on learning a lot this year. Not sure about mid Feb but I'm under the impression late Feb and early March is the best to catch a true pig. I'm sure a few of the guys on here will be able to tell you about the time a little better. If you've never been to Stockton consider hiring a guide, they can show you the ropes and put you on some fish. Good luck and let us know how your trip turns out. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
straw hat Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I think you will enjoy the trip. Definitely the best time of the year. Rather than me trying to write a bunch info I would suggest that you that you go back a couple of years and read all the old Thompson Guide Service reports (and other entries) on this web site. I have found that he really hits things on the head. Also keep up with this web site and you will know when they start hitting. Keep a close on on the weather too, it can be very unpredicable down here that time of year. Good luck!
