Members Cor Posted May 12, 2006 Members Posted May 12, 2006 Hey Guys, I pretty much lurk around here and read everything, but never post- finally decided it was time to say something. I fish the San Juan, usually every May. Its a great river and Lake Navajo above the dam is pretty awesome too. Between Sunday and Wednesday I think I had over 70 hook ups and landed all but about 10 of them. If you get the chance its worth it. I think its about 14 hours to Albequerque and then another 3 hours north.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 12, 2006 Root Admin Posted May 12, 2006 Cor- we want to see your fish! Reduce the size of the pic or if you want, send it to me and I'll repost it for you. phil at lilleyslanding.com There's been alot of questions about the SJ- good to have you here. It is a great place!
Members Cor Posted May 13, 2006 Author Members Posted May 13, 2006 Sorry about the pictures- I'm not too swift with this stuff. I've emailed some pics to Phil, hopefully he can post them up. Everything I caught was spread between some size 22, 24 nymphs- pink princess midge, zebra midge, flashback pheasants, copper johns. Usually set up with princess on top and one of the others as a dropper. I started tying flies in January- it was especially cool to hook into some on flies I'd tied. On a separate note- I think I'm going to fish RR sometime next week (wednesday or thursday???). I've never fished there- is anyone going to be out and about? Cor
