Members Fat Sucker Posted January 29, 2010 Members Posted January 29, 2010 Anyone been to Busch today or recently? Is the ice thick enough on 22, 23, or 24 to do some ice fishing from? Any info appreciated - want to head out there this weekend.

ozark trout fisher Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Bump. I don't know either. How thick does it have to be? When I was there Wednesday morning it was close to 3/4" 4 solid inches is generally considered the minimum for ice fishing. You might be able to get away with less, but I wouldn't try it personally. I was thinking about heading out there today for a few hours, but I'm really getting tired of the whole ice thing. It's not that it wasn't fun at first, but it's really getting old. I think I'm just gonna wait till tommorrow when I can make it down to one of the trout streams (hopefully Montauk)
Members Fat Sucker Posted February 1, 2010 Author Members Posted February 1, 2010 Bump. Anyone been out there? Went to 23 this afternoon. Ice is about 2 inches thick so it's way to thin to walk on. Had to use an anchor to bust through - not much fun. Fished with my son and Dad for about 3 hours - not one bite. Saw a few other guys catch one each but it was really slow for sure.
eric1978 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Bummer. Guess it'll slow the slaughter down a little at least.
Members MnWalleyeGuy Posted February 1, 2010 Members Posted February 1, 2010 Ice is toast @ Busch. A few weeks ago it was about 8"+, now it is less than an inch.
