Members zbarker
Coming down to the White first week in March. How long do the shad usually come through the dam, or does it just vary? 2 wks, month???? Any predictions/outlook?? Just hoping we dont miss it by a week or two. Been down there before right after a shad kill and it was pretty slow. Thanks River Rat

Hotdawg Guide Service
With the continued cold weather I look for the shad kill to get better and better. The main problem with the shad kill is if it is too heavy you have to go down river to get where there is less shad available and the fish are more aggesive to them. Also if they shut the water off then you want to fish real shad and you will catch a lot more and bigger fish. The kill can last for as long as a week to more than three months! All depends on lake temp and water generation. You should be hitting the prime for shad and shadimitation in March Good luck Hotdawg!
