CaptainJoe Posted February 17, 2010 Author Posted February 17, 2010 Doug, Why don't you start a new topic and repost your pictures of your HB installation. There are lots of HB people that would enjoy seeing your photos, but won't see them under a Lowrance thread. Yea, Scap is good. GNSfishing Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Finished the installation of the Lowrance LSS Transducer on my boat transom. Actually, I selected the Jackplate model. This bracket is solid medal and should protect my transducer. You can see in the photos that the 2D Skimmer Transducer is mounted within 12" of the LSS Transducer for excellent DownScan performance. Here is the company's website: Transducer Shield & Saver I am receiving an HDS-8 and a LSS-1 in a few days and have viewed your pictures of your installation and I have a question. Do you have the LSS-1 tranducer and the skimmer 2 D tranducer set at the same level with each other? My CMC jack plate setback is 5 inches, will I need to trim my motor up to prevent it from blocking the signals from the transducers? I know that I will have other questions later concerning setup and adjustments for operations. Where would be a good starting point on setup? Thanks

Thanks Yes, the two transducers are set at the same level, but according to the installation manual, it says that they just have to be within 12" of each other, not at the same level. No, you will not need to trim up the motor, the transducers work fine. My jack plate is 5.6". A good starting point is the installation manual. I was impressed, it was very clear and well done. I had my installation done by Ulrich Marine in Branson West. They have done quite a few of these installations and very professional and competent. If you have any more questions, please contact me.
