Members KC Trout Fan Posted February 21, 2010 Members Posted February 21, 2010 thx red i was kinda hoping there were more pics of the area crica 1950"s to see the structure that is underwater now. Psalm 16:8 I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
Sam Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Ha. I'm old enough I remember driving across the old bridge, lots of times. Well, my dad was driving - I was a kid. We didn't take any pictures of the old bridge, but we took quite a few family trips to watch Tablerock Dam being built. We'd go on the side where the trout hatchery is now, or maybe just a little upstream from there, have a picnic, and watch the big cranes working. We took a bunch of pictures, and if I ever come across them I'll post some.
redbud Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Sam, I for one would love to see some pics ,dig em out if you can.
Sam Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Sam, I for one would love to see some pics ,dig em out if you can. OK, but it might not be real soon. My mom passed away in 2007 and all the family stuff had come down to her, now it's come down to me. There's a couple of big TRUNKS of photos, and the Tablerock Dam pictures are in there somewhere. Now, if you wanted to see what my great-uncles looked like in 1912 - I think I saw those pictures on top.
redbud Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Sam old photos are always interesting especially anything related to fishing or the creeks and rivers in this area. Maybe post some on the photo forum .Have fun remembering the "good ole days"
jeb Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 In this pic you can see the new bridge abutment on the left side. you can see it in the down image , how could I have gone over top of the new bridge? I think you're seeing the piling because you likely have DI set on wide. Notice it doesn't come all the way to the top of the water column. So you're seeing what is in the DI cone. Very nice DI image, BTW. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Martin Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I have a set of 4 old photo's from different angles of the old and new bridges. One of the photo's shows the rising water right to the bottom of the old bridge and another photo shows just the top of the old bridge sticking out of the water. I'll get them out of the frames and scan them and try and get them posted. Great stuff guys !
Members NickE Posted February 25, 2010 Members Posted February 25, 2010 wow!!! SUPER cool pictures! thx for posting
